Classic Kodachrome Monday #80

Every Monday, I'll be spotlighting a different classic Kodachrome slide that I've picked up, and trying where I can to detail the who, what, when, where, why, and how (much) of the image:

This Week:

What: In the shadows

Why: Though arguably hindered by the shadows, this shot provides a really interesting montage of architectural styles and eras, while the shrouded foreground provides just enough hints of the long lost era in which it was taken.

When: Quite a blast to the past, taken November 30, 1941, according to the writing on the mount!

Where: Boston, MA. Parts of this image remain, particularly historic Faneuil Hall and the Custom House in the distance, while the foreground has been essentially obliterated.  The street network itself has seen some changes here thanks to the construction of the massive City Hall facilities immediately behind the camera.

Who: No ID's on the shadowy figures passing through.

How (much): Sort of on the high side - one of the best shot of a batch of about 75 slides I got for about $50.00 on ebay.  Mixed in with this gem were a few too many shots of flowers and nature that are not able to be pinpointed, or have seen little contextual change.

This is the article Classic Kodachrome Monday #80 this time, hopefully can benefit for you all. well, see you in other article post.
