Kodachrome Classic Monday #79

Every Monday, I'll be spotlighting a different classic Kodachrome slide that I've picked up, and trying where I can to detail the who, what, when, where, why, and how (much) of the image:

This Week:

What: Mountain Town

Why: Sort of similar to an image I posted from Nevada a few weeks earlier, this view of a small town and its hilly surroundings would almost appear to have been taken 30 years prior to this if it were not for the presence of the vintage autos that help to substantiate the dating on the slide mount.

When: This view was taken in March of 1960!

Where: Cripple Creek, CO. This view offers an interesting perspective to compare to today, where much can be seen as changed, with still other things consistent with the vintage view.  Note the "faux" Old West themed building that has risen on the site of the strewn scrap in the left foreground, while the sharp curve heading out of town to the East, and the gravelly lot in the right foreground remain largely as is with only modest improvements.

Who: No one to be seen here in this view.

How (much): Not a bad early pickup of mine - just $4.99!

This is the article Kodachrome Classic Monday #79 this time, hopefully can benefit for you all. well, see you in other article post.
